Chronic wounds and the dangers they can bring to those living with diabetes

OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) - Right now, there are 34 million people around the United States who are living with diabetes. Patients with diabetes experience chronic wounds; these are wounds that do not heal easily, according to Dr. Jessica Hicks.At the Ottumwa Regional Wound and Hyperbaric Center, Hicks says they see roughly 500 patients a year, and over half are diabetic.
